Our Adopted School: Boosting English-Speaking Skills One Smile at a Time! 
On 23 May 2025, our super-spirited volunteers Joyce Ong & Jane brought magic into the classroom at SK Desa Jaya — sharing stories, spreading joy, and gifting the power of language to 38 bright-eyed Standard 1 students!
Clad in our iconic neon green tees (you really can’t miss us! haha), they lit up the room — but it was the full-on immersive English experience that truly stole the show!
Meet Jane, a cheerful native English speaker from overseas 
— who speaks only English. Enter the students, all Malay-speaking… and suddenly, BOOM — the classroom became a lively English-only zone!
Awkward at first? Maybe.
Magical? Definitely.
With no choice but to try, the students stepped up — stringing English sentences, laughing, listening, and engaging with so much heart.
(And yes — for many, it was probably the first time meeting a real English woman… the excitement was real! 
)
Joyce Ong, ever the warm and nurturing soul, gently guided the kids throughout — making sure every voice was heard and every little heart felt seen.
The result?
2 hours of non-stop stories, endless laughter, and a classroom buzzing with confidence & joyful chatter in English!
And guess what?
This is only the beginning…
We’re reaching more students soon — and the progress we’ve seen in just one year has been nothing short of inspiring!
We’re soooo proud of these young learners — and forever grateful to Joyce & Jane for their love, time & dedication!
