*Activities report of Yayasan Suria JB(YSJB) on Fri, 24/4/2020.*
Hello Everyone,
A very good morning and especially to all our brothers and sisters starting their fasting, *selamat berpuasa!*
As the MCO drags on, with more and more of our clients in dire straits, *more and more calls(knowns – recorded in my hp) and unknowns – new calls, unrecorded in my hps),* some 30 or so calls daily desparately seeking for food aid, *some crying with their voices chocking, all pleading and pleading,* what to do, we can only do so much.
Yes, we can, *we have appointed ‘partners’, all 12 now,* the latest, *11th partner being Mr Tee Tiam Yong* of Persatuan Sukarelawan Berkat Kasih Johor Bahru, Johor (448 Food Bank Johor), we funded him 1k and he immediately sprang into action the same day, job done, to Indonesians who just arrived before Lockdown waiting to start work, thank you Mr Tee for a job well done!
*Our 12th partner, Mr Julian* covering Mount Austin, Jaya Putra areas took 4 goodies bags from our base in Molek and immediately gave them out the same day, thank you Mr Julian for a job well executed!
*Thank God for sending us good partners,* all trust-worthy, efficient, reliable and honest detailing to us whatever they do, they have a sense of pride in what they do, have passion and love for humanity. *We fund them, either in kind(goodies bags from Taman Molek) or direct online transfer to their bank accounts.*
The big question now!
*How and where do we(YSJB) get the funds?………*
Well, from the many donors out there, *2 ways – some give us food aid* (the most recent being *Wesley Methodist Church Johor Bahru* who funded us RM500, we went with one Mr Alex to NSK Pandan to buy groceries, not their policy to give out cash, *others transfer directly into YSJB’s bank account.* We are able to gain the trust of our donors due to the intigrity of the Foundation and myself as Founder over the years even before YSJB was officially recognised by ROS on 14th Sept 2012. *Its the trust that donors look at, without this one word ‘TRUST’, the Foundation is gone.*
Well money is never enough when running a Foundation, we want and need to help more and more people, *never ending, funds must flow in, by the faith and trust in God we shouldered on and on,* most of the time, just trusting in God only knowing that money will come in, *at times ditching out some personal savings to pump in, its real, no lying here,* all the time money is ‘just enough’ to go by helping the endless streams of people crying for help.
1. At base in Molek waiting for Alex of Wesley Methodist Church Johor Bahru, to NSK Pandan(described above).
Every morning planning the families to visit and the route to take. KK & I still prefers the old fashion way. Pampers and size, milk powder and brand. Any other special needs. Mostly written on our diaries and a clip boards.
2. Running errands, banking in money to partners, banking in cheques from donors, etc.
3. A very sad state of affairs after reading reports of money being abused during this Covid-19 period *when everyone should be helping anyone and everyone.*
A time like this raises our adrenalin to be kind and benevolent and yet on the contrary, greed and robbery of the weak and vulnerable seems to be occuring. Crisis either bring the beast out of us or the divine out of us. *Are we made in the image of God or are we children of the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy.* RM 65 for transport and only RM 35 for the food, is a plausible answer? We leave this aside for now, we need to go out there to help the masses.
Visited a sample vulnerable family of 8 persons sardined in a house not bigger than some of our master bedrooms. A single mother with 2 babies. None received any income for the last one month.
*Children has been our ‘weakness’* since we embarked on this journey some 40 days or so ago, those feeding on *’condensed milk’*, etc.
The children just melted our hearts. Can they be spared from hunger?
Today, at 99 Speed Mart, we loaded tons of *Dumex Dugro formula milk* ready for distribution.
A cluster of Indonesian restaurent workers whose pay has been used up. Nothing to eat, waiting for food aid, *we advised them not to steal or rob, just call us if you feel like doing so,* we assured them we will be there, they promised realising our sincerity, *bonds of trust forged, we promised, we deliver even it means going out of our way.* If this MCO is not handled carefully, *social unrest might flare up, what do you expect when you are hungry, with no job, no money, no food and abandoned by your employer?*
4. *Started another nasi lemak project every Fri*(a brainchild project of my grandson, Jonathan) as described yesterday.
30 packets to our partner, Edward and 70 packets to another partner, Cornelius. Another 70 packets to Edward next Fri as requested, very sedap too.
Total 170 packets from now on every Fri.

250 persons (bubur lambuk)
Total beneficiaries:
*1,065 smile of the day!*
Thanks Farrah for a job well done.
6. Visited another 3 families at *Megah Ria low-cost flats, the poorest of the poor in Masai areas, mainly East Malaysians here.* No job, no money, no food, scavenging for tapioca, tapioca leaves, so happy to receive goodies bags, many on on our list came around asking for aid, gave them our numbers, we expect another 20 or so, we will handle, perhaps on our next round here, perhaps the next 3 days, many more cases elsewhere.
7. Detoured to Bukit Senyum, JB to *pick up ‘XL’ adult pampers* from Sukhjit, just a moment ago got a call from Puan Sopian, Tampoi saying that the ‘M’ size pampers can’t be used, she wanted ‘XL’, *God answered our call,* can’t deliver today, tomorrow, raining heavily now, got caught in the rain.
8. Got a call from Mr Lim, Johor Jaya, saying it’s raining heavily now, don’t have the time to go out to buy, can you pass me 2 goodies bags *for 2 families not eaten for about 2 days, help me please, I am going there now* but can’t buy now, raining heavily.
We went back to Molek, took the 2 goodies bags to Johor Jaya and off Mr Lim, *no time to waste, he was in such a hurry,* after an hour, he texted me with pic, job done.
All in a day’s work, so rewarding, so satisfying, but so tired at the sane time. *So ‘everything’ mixed up like ‘rojak.’*
Thank you & God bless.
