It is ACTION YSJB 2023 April

It is ACTION!

One of the volunteers posted this article in our chat group on 22/4/2023 and with nobody initiating to find out where this single mother is staying or whatsoever, we activated our “search engine” and the rest was history.

It was the second day of Hari Raya(today, 23/4/2023) but who cares – we felt she needed help after reading the article. The house was in Jalan Teratai, some 6 mins drive from our office at Jalan Bakawali in Taman Johor.

With another volunteer, we went to our office to pack some “goodies”(Promex milk powder, bread & buns, frozen food, sweets & chocolates, etc) as “buah tangan”(gifts) on our first visit.

It was pouring outside the office when we decided we could not wait longer as the rain refused to stop, rushed into our Toyota Hilux and off we went.

We chatted, two boys(3 & 6 yo) were sticking to me, eating the sweets/buns and were busy playing with me while the other volunteer tried to find out about the situation at hand.

After listening and accessing the situation, we decided to give her RM1, 000.00 monthly as household expenses(food, kindergarten fees for the 2 boys, etc) starting from May 2023 until Dec when we shall review again.

She stays with her father, didn’t get any insurance claims from death of hubby and now living off the little savings left and she works from home doing online sales of baby/children clothings.

Our volunteer, Bro Lo has extensive experiences on online marketing and he shared with her how to push her online business into great heights.

We also promised her our monthly food bank, bread and buns and vegetables on a periodic basis. Her baby is due end June 2023 and we hope the little money will help in some ways to alleviate whatever situation she is experiencing now.

We shall be sending our volunteers, especially ladies, to journey with her and we assured her of our support and commitment.

There was a smile on her face, much better than when we first met her some 30 mins ago – her happiness is our pride and joy too, knowing that she is now in a more “secure” situation financially.

Those reading this and want to be our synergy partner in assisting Madam Ong, you are most welcome!

Together, we can make this world a better place for this young family who has lost their father – not because they wanted to but fate decided that way!

“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
