Yayasan Suria JB (YSJB) – You don’t need a reason to do something good!
This was the question that baffles volunteers joining us as volunteers for the first time as they see us diligently going about helping the Poor & Needy, our clients.
Not only that – our neighbors around us who are doing business have dropped by our office to enquire what business we are doing. We are no different from them, loading and unloading goods, with clients and volunteers walking in and out of our rented office and store (RM1,600 monthly), located on the main road at 107, Jalan Bakawali 50, Taman Johor Jaya, Jphor Bahru.
I explained to them all our volunteers are unpaid but they shot back and said that they are so hard working, enthusiastic and so happy working for you all the time.
This “happiness ripple” effect has spread far and wide, with our immediate neighbo r(a laundry shop) and our opposite neighbor (a restaurant) allowing us to put our donation boxes in their shops, to be our synergy partners and part of our “doing good business”.
People are still confused and baffled that there is a charity organization, solely run by volunteers, having a high turnover in terms of “doing good business” and with happy volunteers. Nevermind, we hope to inspire and motivate the public to think there is more to life than just making money and more money.
